01     CONTEXT

Owned by Ashley Lewis and located in Richmond, Virginia, The Beet Box’s mission is to incorporate healthy and natural consumption, leading to a vibrant and attainable lifestyle. by taking care of your mind, body and spirit, the Beet Box is committed to creating healthy fruit smoothies and vegan bites to eat.

The Beet Box has partnered with Divi Dojo to redesign their website and reflect the Beet Box vision to the community of Richmond, Virginia.

The Challenge

With the name Beet Box, there’s a play off of both Beets, healthiness and hip-hop, hence the play off of Beat Box. So the site itself needed to portray a mix of clean, healthy, vegan, fruity and also young, hip, and soul.

The photography of the bright colors of fruit smoothie drinks combined with the photography of the kids in “fresh” gear for the merchandizing, helped to set this very tone.

Finally, mixing in our specialty of creating a custom site with Divi, designed from the ground up and not utilizing a template. We worked to create a site that incorporated a store, instagram feed, online ordering and all easily viewable by mobile devices.

Design & Development

First we did some research as to what works and doesn’t with competitive fruit smoothie business sites around the area and other parts of the country. We shared our findings with the team at Beet Box and devised a plan starting with the homepage design.  We have found that starting a design plan at the homepage level only helps to weed out elements that don’t work, and put in extra focus on the things that do.

We start with applying some of the sections that may or may not be from the same 2 or 3 different sample sites. This helps us utilizing the strengths of what Beet Box has to offer.  There’s no need to re-invent the wheel when it isn’t necessary to, there’s also no single perfect way to build a fruit smoothie website. So our outcome is fully vetted and completely brand new from top to bottom. See for yourself.

Using Divi and it’s visual editor, we designed a nice hierarchical flow, while maintaining a valuable easy to edit in the future landing page for the client.
